About Showcased
Visitors to Golin Ketchum’s Chicago office are greeted by the Showcase Wall—an array of eight screens that highlight the agency’s mission statement, recent work, recent awards, spotlight the MVP employees of the month, celebrate anniversaries, and recap the latest in what’s trending on social media.
Keeping eight screens up-to-date is a lot, especially when some of the content changes weekly. So to make life easier for myself and Chicago’s kick-ass design team, I built Showcased as an iOS and macOS app to help assemble, curate, and export screen-ready assets.
The Details
The Elevator Pitch
- Super Simple Exports: The app divides screens into tabs by subject. Choose a tab, then export the current month or a selection of your choice. Want it simpler? Full support for Shortcuts.
- Real-time Requests: Anyone in Chicago could make a request via a web form that triggered a push notification with a deep link direct to the details of the request.
- Custom File Format: Onboarding a new colleague? All the data from Showcased can be exported in a custom .showcased file for quick setup.
My Favorite Parts
- SwiftUI everywhere: Not just the screens of the app, but the graphics it generates for the Showcase Wall.
- Designed to be fast and easy: PolitiCall doesn’t have a lot of features some similar apps have, but I like to think the design makes it quick to navigate, quick to get on a call.
